My journey has been eclectic; the influences of which can be seen in my writing and artwork. My passion for experiencing world cultures, and studying ethnic textiles has inspired
numerous travels to South America, Asia and Europe. I am enchanted with cloth, both artistically and metaphorically and weave this throughout my art, writing and workshops.

In both my art and teaching I draw upon rich personal experiences gathered from extensive worldwide travel.
I have been privileged to witness deep reverence for the earth from indigenous groups while deep in the heart of the Amazon jungle.
High in the altiplano of Peru I joined in local celebrations and danced with delight to the sounds of ancient music.
In Asia, I began to understand the power of silence while meditating in Buddhist temples.
On the island of Bali, I experienced the simply daily ritual of placing fresh rice and flowers outside one's door as an expression of gratitude for yet another day.
In Europe, I felt the heritage of ancestry and connection with the past as I stood upon sacred sites reminding me where I came from and pointing me towards the future.
Throughout all these experiences I witnessed the power of the human spirit. It is this essence of celebration and reverence, which flavors my workshops, art and writing. My resume and academic highlights illuminates my professional and academic experience.
