Workshops with Jane Dalton
|
|
In these workshops it is my vision to strengthen the
heart's wisdom through a variety of experiential activities and
heart-centered practices. Heart-centered learning whether in the classroom
or one's personal life is twofold, both internal and external, experiencing
and expressing. I offer creative workshops dedicated to providing
experiential practices and resources for teachers and adults that inspires
spiritual awareness, personal growth and creativity. Workshops are
imaginative, renewing and creative! |

days in length, or custom designed for a particular event.
For school administrators I am available for onsite workshops, staff
development and curriculum design.
Individual coaching for teachers is available. I will work
one-on-one, assisting teachers to develop personal and professional tools
for integrating heart-centered and creative curriculum in the classroom.

About the workshops
Creating a Compassionate Classroom
(for educators)
Based upon the book, The Compassionate Classroom,
this interactive workshop explores numerous creative and engaging activities
for classroom usage that will encourage compassion, foster relationships,
value intuition and spiritual diversity. Educators will enjoy the inspired
and imaginative activities, which nourish the heart. In the classroom,
students will benefit from these lessons, which provide a foundation from
which they can develop a personal awareness comprised of wisdom, compassion,
appreciation and awareness.

Affirming Diversity through Art
(for educators)
Want to integrate the arts across the curriculum? Explore creative and
engaging lessons that foster a deeper understanding of the wealth and experiences shared by people worldwide. Successful and experiential lessons
will be demonstrated that stimulate thought, expand boundaries and open
imagination. Participants will explore a variety of materials, historical
information, and practical applications that will stimulate children's
creativity and vision. |

The Fabric of Hope
(for educators or community groups)
This workshop has evolved out of personal experience and the creative process. The inspiration which evolved from my deep personal interest in the spiritual and symbolic meaning of cloth across time, culture and religion. It is my hope to weave together understanding, compassion and peace in community, using fabric as the foundation to explore spiritual traditions and practices. Participants will work collaboratively with fabric and thread, stitching together their lives, hopes and dreams. This workshop is suited for teachers who want to explore religious diversity in the classroom, religious communities, interfaith celebrations, youth groups and any group whose goal is to promote peace, healing, understanding and hope. Each workshop is unique and geared towards the common theme established by the group. You can read about one project in an article I wrote for Teaching Tolerance magazine on a prayer quilt created in a high school, in Cary, North Carolina.
